Corinth Pipeworks Wins Big Pipeline Job in Italy
A Greek company called Corinth Pipeworks just got a big job from Italy. They will make more than 180 kilometers of pipes for a huge gas project called Adriatica.
This project is one of Italy's biggest gas pipeline jobs in ten years. It will help Italy move natural gas around the country better.
The company will make two types of pipes. Some are 48 inches wide, and others are 56 inches wide. Both types are made from special strong steel. The pipes are tested to make sure they can carry 100% hydrogen gas, which is important for future energy needs.
"We are happy to get this job. It shows we work well with the Italian company Snam," said Ilias Bekiros, who runs Corinth Pipeworks.
The Greek company knows how to make pipes that work with hydrogen gas. They have good testing equipment too. They will make the pipes at their factory in Greece. The pipes get special coatings inside and outside to work better and last longer.
The testing for these pipes goes beyond normal rules. They use advanced methods to make sure the pipes will work well for future energy needs.
This job shows how the two companies work well together to build better energy systems for the future.
